ABSTRACT
In this talk, Prof. Tang Jie will review the recent development of Artificial Intelligence including theories, algorithms, and application in the data mining community. Prof. Tang will take KDD as an example and introduce the most popular research topics in recent years, as well as summarise applied research conducted in major international companies. Finally, several interesting research on representation learning for big networks, covering both theoretical analysis and applications of network (graph) embedding will also be presented.

SPEAKER'S BIO

Prof. Tang Jie is a tenured associate professor and the vice chair of the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. His interests include social network analysis, data mining, and machine learning. He has published over 200 papers and holds 20 patents. He served as PC Co-Chair of CIKM’16, WSDM’15, Associate General Chair of KDD’18, and Acting Editor-in-Chief of ACM TKDD. He was honoured with UK Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship Award, NSFC for Distinguished Young Scholar, and KDD’18 Service Award. He is currently the technical advisor of 6Estates.
