FedEx / JA International Trade Challenge – Singapore Finals
The FedEx Express / JA International Trade Challenge to bring heightened awareness on the rewards and benefits of a business and entrepreneurship education as an avenue for helping today’s youth to achieve their fullest potential and preparing them to become tomorrow’s leaders in our global society. This challenge is for the students to develop a marketing entry strategy plan for a specific product to a specific market. The students attended a workshop on international trade, product analysis, market research, short and long term goals, target market, pricing, advertising, and distribution channels.
Their challenge for this year is to sell "An outdoor product and the market you are entering is Papua New Guinea".
15 finalist teams have been selected to advance to and present their plans at the Singapore Finals. The judges will then select 3 top teams to represent Singapore at the 12th Asia Pacific International Trade Challenge Finals to be held from 12th to 16th Aug in Singapore. There will be 10 countries competing with 3 teams each, and the countries are Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
Many of the students have not had any business background so it’s very amazing what the students have learned and the market entry plans they have come up with.
