Founded in 2016, Pillpresso is a multi award-winning healthcare startup supported by NUS Enterprise, Enterprise SG and Singtel. We are proudly registered as a social enterprise under raiSE Singapore. Our aim is to improve medication management and adherence among the elderly as they transition from hospital to home.

Job Description and Requirements:  
WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
Pillpresso is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the team.
 
You’ll be working closely with the founders to build an innovative hardware & software IoT platform in digital medicine. The aim is to digitise medication management and track medication compliance for patients, caregivers and nurses alike – in home-care and hospital settings.
 
The role will involve improving and developing new features on our web + mobile app platform, which are built primarily on AngularJS, NodeJS and the Ionic framework.
 
You will be liaising with software counterparts and healthcare professionals from organisations of varying scale (e.g. community healthcare partners to large hospitals) so as to understand their needs, develop product features and work on API integration as needed.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take the lead on technical design discussions and propose innovative solutions for the backend components
  • Plan, build and test new product features from end-to-end, based on customer and business needs
  • Collaborate with the electrical engineer in hardware-software interfacing
  • Design and implement JSON-based RESTful APIs
  • Write and execute test plans, debugging and testing scripts and tools.
  • Ensure performance, scalability, maintainability and security of the technical platform
  • Write and update technical documentation
  • Set coding best practices
 
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years experience as a software engineer, developer, or programmer
  • Strong knowledge in JavaScript, ES6, Node 8 (Note: We work based on the MEAN stack.)
  • Strong knowledge in Relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge in working with Amazon Web Services
  • Extensively used and implemented JSON-based RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with GIT or other version control systems.
  • Experience with best practices in software development, such as unit testing, pair programming and continuous integration.
 
SKILLS THAT ARE GOOD TO HAVE
  • Good proficiency in front-end frameworks and languages, e.g. AngularJS, Ionic, HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience with IoT, embedded systems
  • Experience with developing enterprise-grade architecture / software and security requirements
