Job Description:
As a Data Engineer, you will be a key member of the Centre. You will play a leading role in developing analytics solutions and data capabilities that will enable us to be thought leaders in the practice of data and analytics.
On a day to day basis, your responsibilities can comprise of:
1. Being an effective bridge between the Centre, IT and our Global Big Data Infrastructure platform to ensure that the data work streams are effectively collected, organized and processed
2. Make data actionable by designing and building effective application programming interfaces -- APIs -- and services that allow the data to flow into any system that can make use of the information in real-time.
3. Technical expertise for design, development, implementation of information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis and provide effective recommendations based on trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.
4. Develops relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software and database leading software.
5. Maintains and updates for new development a set of records for, but not limited to, creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, codes, and macros.
This role is based in Singapore and reports to the Team Head, Analytics, Dentsu Aegis Network Global Data Innovation Centre.
Desired Skills and Experience:
1. 2+ years of experience in this field.
2. At least a Bachelor’s degree from Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems.
3. Strong programming skills in Java, c++, nodejs and scripting languages such as python, PHP, and understanding R will be a plus
4. Strong experience in database of SQL and NoSQL
5. Experience with “big data” technologies such as Hadoop, MPP databases
6. Experience in web application development such as web server technology, HTML5, Javascript, AJAX, and XML etc.
7. Track-record of independent learning and technical problem-solving
8. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team
9. Ability to develop and communicate creative solutions to technical problems
10. Self-starter and motivated
11. Confident, responsible and can proactively think of and implement solutions to tricky problems.
