Our goal is to help our clients accelerate and scale innovation by enabling marketing leadership and brand managers to more effectively track technology & consumer trends, tap into the global start-up ecosystem, and gain hands-on experience “test driving” new solutions. We also provide specialized expertise and resources to complement our clients’ innovation teams and to offload cumbersome tasks across the innovation lifecycle (i.e., solution scouting, supplier certification, product configuration and testing, piloting, deployment analysis, etc.). The Research Analyst will design, build and grow our research group. Research areas focus primarily on digital marketing practices, consumer behaviors and related emerging technologies, with a focus on helping brands to solve real problems and leverage new opportunities through the use of new technologies. As an early employee of Pilot44 APAC, you will be a partner in shaping the strategy and culture of the Company, as well as the overall success of our clients. At the same time, you must be able to put your head down, dig deep and create a strategic map of all things innovation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct primary research into the emerging marketing technologies & practices that are driving consumer behavior and engagement models.
Build and maintain a comprehensive “map” of the start-up landscape and help identify the most relevant and innovative solutions.
Understand complex and varied information; work to synthesize information into simple and clear market/industry insights.
Ensure all derived insights and strategic recommendations directly address documented client business objectives.
Design and manage our publication and social presence.
Create and maintain an online innovation network that brings together experts, entrepreneurs and start-ups into a common resource.
Client Services and Success
Help to develop proposals for client engagement based on each client’s specific needs.
Where applicable, support Pilot44 account managers and product specialists to formulate research-centric solutions to client initiatives.
Work with start-up solution providers to understand and simplify their value proposition and solution offering, in accordance with the Pilot44 methodology.
Contribute to a positive and sustainable company culture.

Desired Skills & Experience
While experience is important, a drive and desire to succeed is essential. Key experience and skills required for this position include:
Prior work experience of 2 to 4 years minimum MUST include consultative business problem solving, digital marketing or software technology exposure (ideally technical product management) as well as market research and analysis.
Experience in insights generation and analysis. Able to clearly translate insights and data into easily digestible presentations.
Passion for corporate innovation and a keen ability to understand how technology and innovation can disrupt or present opportunities to large corporates.
A clear understanding of business principles and strong client relationship skills.
Social media, market research experience, web commerce and ad tech experience a strong plus.
Ability to find, parse and synthesize large amounts of information into simplified summaries and value propositions.
Strong desire to drive research and build a knowledge network as a primary job responsibility.
Strong technical aptitude with experience evaluating and/or deploying complex solutions.
Experience in managing software development or deployment projects a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of research, presentation and collaboration tools required.
Fluent in English; Fluency in Mandarin (and other languages) a plus.
BA/BS degree, Master’s or higher a plus.
