As a Robot Operations Engineer at Savioke you’ll be part of a team that helps us increase robot adoption by supporting the sales, installation and operations of our Relay service robots in Singapore, the region and around the world. Each project will offer unique challenges as you work with representatives from business partners as well as elevators, telecommunication systems, automatic doors, building infrastructure teams, and more to ensure Relay can be deployed and operated successfully. In your role you will develop a deep understanding of Relay’s systems and inner workings to support Relay’s operations. You will communicate issues to the engineering teams and take responsibility to make sure that Relay works as efficiently and reliable as possible.

Job Description and Requirements:  

The Work
Ensure the performance and reliability of Savioke’s fleet of robots, as well as network and customer site infrastructure, in support of our customers and partners.
Provide high level troubleshooting to resolve issues that are beyond the capabilities of our Level 1 & 2 support service.
Monitor the health and operations of the fleet of Savioke robots and proactively engage to resolve faults before they impact customer operations.
Respond and provide technical guidance to customers regarding operational issues, software and configuration changes, and general maintenance
Document field issues, analysis and resolution, and maintain up-to-date records of robot and site configurations, serial numbers, etc. to aid in both CS and product development.
Show eagerness to learn new technologies, and to embrace and master the Savioke systems at all levels.
Communicate and collaborate with our global team across Operations, Engineering and Customer Success.
Contribute to the development of instrumentation and automation for monitoring, detection, and self-healing of failures.
Contribute to the creation of customer guides, FAQs, application notes, best practices.

The position is based out of our office in Singapore with afternoon hours of operation (1PM - 9PM)

Qualifications / Skills
Bachelor's or Diploma with experience in a technical field (including EE, ME, CS, Robotics)
Must be able to focus and drive issues to closure in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Strong communication and people skills. Customer-centric mindset; willingness to go above and beyond to keep customers happy
Experience with Linux (ideally Ubuntu) administration, tools and shell/Python scripting.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve device and system-level problems in Linux.
Experience with firewalls, VPN, and network security technologies
Working knowledge of ICMP, SSH, DNS, and other low-level network protocols
Willingness to troubleshoot electro-mechanical components in distributed systems.
Document methods and liaise with engineering for any unknowns to document those.
Requires a willingness to work within established systems and produce results that either prevent problems from recurring, or enable others to solve them more easily in the future.

Bonus Points
ROS usage experience
Hands on experience in configuration and administration of highly distributed networks.
Cloud computing experience (AWS and/or GCP)
Experience with wireless technologies including WiFi, Bluetooth, and LTE is a plus.
Experience with log management and visualization systems like Elastic Search (ELK stack), Splunk, SignalFX or similar is a plus.
